Oliver Valves launched the industry's first high-pressure upper application solution

Qualified Oliver Valves ½” orifice top manual gate valve provides customers and end users with the first high-pressure development solution for the Gulf of Mexico industry

Challenge: This project requires 20ksi DBB isolation for TUTA (upper umbilical termination assembly), boarding valves and vents, drains, and chemical injection points around the production manifold.  

The challenge faced by Oliver Valves: As a preferred supplier, Oliver needed to design and manufacture valves very quickly to meet strict application and project schedules. All of the following considerations must be met:

• Client approves all test documents, procedures and FEA 

• Prototype; material procurement, processing, assembly, development 

• Designed to meet BSEE requirements

• Only complete, fully tested and qualified valves can be produced. Any calculation error may delay the delivery of the valve and cause serious project impact.

Result: Oliver Valves will provide multiple ½” manual gate valves DBB for the Gulf of Mexico project. In this project application, the ½” gate valve DBB will be used to discharge the 20,000 psi rated pipeline around the large boarding valve on the semi-submersible floating production unit system. The first oil is expected in 2024.

The high-voltage level of this design allows our customers and end users to obtain other high-voltage resource opportunities throughout the industry.

• API 6A 21st edition Appendix F PR2 compatible.

• Eligibility for independent witness and approval.

• The qualified temperature range is -29oC to 121oC and is operable. 

• It can be provided in single isolation or DBB format using 20Ksi OS&Y Vent.

• Meets ASTM A182 F55 and UNS N07718 and N06625 pruning requirements.

• Fire test conforms to API 6FA 5th edition.
