Positec USA Recalls WORX Electric Pressure Washers Due to Impact Injury Hazard | CPSC.gov

The sprayer hose can separate from the spray wand during use, posing an impact injury hazard to the user or passersby.

This recall involves the WORX brand 13 Amp 1900 PSI Electric Pressure Washer with model number WG606. The pressure washers are gray and orange with the WORX brand name on the front of the product and “Electric Pressure Washer” on the handle. Recalled products have serial number ranges from 20210200078905 to 20210200096490 and from 20210200097286 to 20210200097881, and the serial number is found on the product label located on the main body of the product on the back of the soap tank. The model number can be found on that same label in the upper left.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled pressure washers and contact Positec USA for instructions on returning the spray wand for a free replacement. Once verified, Positec USA will provide the consumer with a prepaid shipping label for return of the wand assembly at which point Positec will provide the consumer with the free replacement. Positec USA is contacting all known purchasers directly.

Positec has received 61 reports of the spray hose and wand separation, including four reports of minor injuries, including cuts and bruises.

This recall was conducted, voluntarily by the company, under CPSC’s Fast Track Recall process. Fast Track recalls are initiated by firms, who commit to work with CPSC to quickly announce the recall and remedy to protect consumers.

Young children can become entrapped in the space between the exterior landing (hoistway) door and the interior elevator car door or gate if there is a hazardous gap and suffer serious injuries or death when the elevator is called to another floor.

The miter saw’s rear safety guard can break or detach, posing an injury hazard due to projectiles that can strike the user and bystanders and a laceration hazard to the user who could come into direct contact with the saw blade.   

The teal-colored guard on the recalled hedge trimmer’s shear blade is missing, posing a laceration hazard to users.   

The molded plastic drain pan located at the bottom of the evaporator coil can overheat, melt and deform, posing a fire hazard.

The blocked vent temperature switch (BVTS) can malfunction, which can cause the release of gases, including carbon monoxide (CO), into consumers’ homes, posing a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. 

One of the U-shaped buckles on the supporting cables can fail, posing an impact injury hazard to the user or bystander if the rack falls.

CPSC's work to ensure the safety of consumer products has contributed to a decline in the rate of injuries associated with consumer products over the past 50 years.

Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
