Kemet Lapping Systems can be found in Service Centres throughout the world. In Refineries, Petrochemical Plants, Power Stations or Oil Platforms, Kemet is uniquely able to supply the complete package of Lapping Machines and consumables for the precision finishing of mechanical seal and valve faces.

The Company has a complete programme of Lapping Machines for the maintenance workshop, which are able to duplicate the processes used by seal and valve manufacturers.  The largest standard model machine can finish gate valves up to 1 metre in length. Smaller transportable systems are based on the Kemet 15 Machine. This bench mounted model is able to finish seal faces up to 5” in diameter.

Materials such as stainless steel, stellite, silicon carbide, tungsten carbide, carbon and ceramic can be easily and quickly processed in a one-step operation. For portability and on-site work, a complete range of Hand Lapping and Polishing Kits is available. Kemet’s Lapping service is also available, with fast turnaround times.
